Tenant Council

The tenant council provides an outlet for tenants to voice their concerns, make suggestions and to be actively engaged in the incubation process.  The council hosts regular tenant meetings, which provide a platform for tenants to share information and resources.

Advisory Committee

The role of the Advisory Committee is to provide advisement, counsel, direction, guidance, and “best practices” relative to business, technology, science, law, real estate, finance, and other areas of personal expertise.

The purpose of the Advisory Committee is

  • To review business plans, provide recommendations and approve or deny applications that are conditionally approved to the program, based on business plans provided and business compatibility to the overall incubator program; and

  • To act in an advisory capacity for matters related to the management, contractual obligations and strategic development of the MBEC operations, programs and other related initiatives and opportunities brought forward by the staff of the MicroBusiness Enterprise Center.

The Advisory Committee shall meet once every other month to review provisional applications, discuss said business and advise in person and or by proxy. Other communication can be through email quarterly. In the case of large applicant pools waiting for approval, a special call can be made by the Program Manager or Chair for expedited consideration.

The advisory board provides technical and management assistance to MBEC tenants and staff.  The board is made up of area business professionals, as well as business owners from the Albany community.
